footlights are and were notorious theater and actor burners. Exactly what
sort of design are you using?
I performed at Pennsic once, by torchlight, in a Commedia del Arte. Tres
authentic: one of the cast caught fire.... (scorched her overdress, she was
not harmed, it was just before we started performing.)
On the other hand, if we actually do a play by torchlight, people will
finally get to see in detail what I've been ranting about for decades as
"presentational" acting. You can't do anything else by torchlight.
What does that mean?
