The eighteenth and nineteenth centuries were a critical period for
migration, seeing an acceleration that peaked at the turn of the twentieth
century. These two hundred years saw also a pivot from the initial
colonists or settlers driven by population growth, economic changes,

The Charles Wuorinen Papers is a collection of more than 300 containers

Wuorinen’s output, and it demonstrates for nearly each work the extended,
complex stages of his compositional process—with the inclusion of holograph
manuscripts, sketches, heavily annotated computer printouts in successive
versions, and published scores. Wuorinen’s chronological and subject files
also document many aspects

We warmly invite scholars, researchers, and experts to contribute studies
that unravel the intricate connections between music and boys love media.
Expanding on themes such as the narrative functions of music, portrayals of
musical performances, the symbolic and metaphorical dimensions of music,
and the affective and expressive currents in auditory, sonic, and queer
contexts, this collection aspires to establish a robust foundation for
exploring musicology within the diverse manifestations of boys love media
across the expansive Asian landscape and beyond.

The new editorial team of *American Music* (starting volume 41, 2023) is
excited to invite submissions that employ interdisciplinary methodologies
in the study of music in the Americas, with a particular emphasis on
addressing underrepresented topics and perspectives. We are interested in
articles that engage with current debates, primary source materials, and
theoretical issues in American music, as well as those that offer fresh
perspectives on familiar topics. We welcome works by (ethno)musicologists,
theorists, cultural studies scholars, anthropologists, sound studies
scholars, and others whose work intersects with the themes and topics
outlined below.

Issue 14.1 fully and joyfully embraces the far-reaching range of topics and
disciplinary approaches housed under the big tent of jazz studies, engaging
with subjects ranging from the controversial (Buddy Bolden and Kenny G) to
the canonical (Louis Armstrong and Count Basie). Throughout, we call on
readers to expand their understanding of what jazz scholarship can look
like, and perhaps their understanding of what can and should count as jazz.
