I'll be offline for a while next week while I figure out how to ring
the bells and blow the whistles on my new computer. That is no small
feat for a computer klutz, and I approach it with trepidation. Will I
knock the earth off its orbit? Kill the electricity in the entire
northeast? Give up and throw it out the window? So kindly be patient,
and thank you.

Other news:
09Conference planning is coming along. We hope to get a wolves expert
to speak. He is from Canada, studies wolves in their natural habitat,
has stories to tell about his experiences in the Arctic. Wolves in the
wild are amazing--but I doubt we will get to do a "wolf watch" this far
south. We will have to be content with a "moose watch."

The hide beetles are now working on the moose calf skeleton. Sheesh, I
didn't know it takes so long and is that stinky!

Want to present at the 09 conference or help in any way? Prepare a
short proposal. We are planning a regular art exhibit, a small 3-d
works exhibit, members' publications exhibit, and a small fine arts
exhibit (separate from the regular exhibit). Because space is tight,
all are juried, and each is separate from the others. Not confirmed
yet, but in the planning stage. Joan
