I am working with a company called Dixon Studios out of Tucson, AZ. They
are exhibit fabricators and do wonderful sculptures kids crawl all over.
They might share an bit of industry knowledge with you if you call them?
Not sure.

Subject: [SCIART] touchable sculptures
Hi All,
I am working on a project that involves painting a cast of a giant
fossil frog from Madagascar. Now, I am a scientific illustrator
working in this field for 30 years, but have not had to do anything
like this up until now. The cast is made of a resin material, and
requires colorful painting, and a varnish that can be safe for people
(children) to touch. I am thinking of using an acrylic spray primer,
Golden Liquid Acrylic paint, and then something fast drying like
Krylon Crystal Clear for the finish. Does anyone have any ideas? I am
working on an impossible deadline (what else is new?), and not having
any previous experience with this type of work, I would be grateful
for any suggestions.
Thanks,
Luci
