Ok, another one. But this one is just pure delight and I couldn't
restrain myself.
We are inviting dignitaries, artists, and officers of neighboring
universities in Maine and New Brunswick to the Science Illustration
exhibit opening. Guess that means I have to dig out my book of manners
and find the "how to write a proper invitation" section.
We have hired "Les Chanteurs Acadiens" (The Acadian Singers) as
musicians for the banquet. It was a difficult decision to make because
there are some excellent local fiddlers and guitar players from which
to choose. Ah, the tough life of a coordinator, having to listen to
Acadian and Cajun music as part of the job. Or is that a perk?
Our banquet dinner is Acadian, as you know. One of the great things
about that is that the campus is green, and the Food Service will not
only purchase food from the usual suppliers but will buy locally fresh
produce at just the right time for optimum freshness and preparation.
That will give some flexibility to the menu, but we can handle that,
right?.
Lastly, if anyone is getting messages to me bounced back it might be
because FairPoint Communications (the rural telephone company that has
taken over from Verizon) is making the last of the equipment
conversions. Please, if that is happening, and I have no way of
knowing short of sending each of you a test email, be patient while I
pester FairPoint on this end.
