I like the header much better now, Mary! Lightening the area just
behind the type really makes it stand out without losing the splashy
and exciting feel of it.
I hope you don't feel this is a case of 'too many cooks' - but it's
been really interesting to see the different kinds of input each
person suggested, isn't it?
What I would love to see more of in your online art portfolio is work
that you've done from life, not photography. : ) It's so hard to
really convey the fullness of dimension when looking at pictures. I
think you caught some really nice naturalistic effects with the
little girl with blue eyes, though! When I teach a class, at first
people often bring in work they have done from photos and it's
interesting to see their styles of doing so. The first and all
subsequent classes, I always assign them still life work, both from
ordinary things found around the house as well as objects from
nature: simple exercises at first, then more complex. What's always a
delight to me is seeing the difference in their work after six weeks/
six assignments! : ) Give it a try! : )
