Hi everyone,

I have an opportunity to make a short presentation (10-15 minutes) to my
daughter's 3-year-old preschool class about being an artist. My question is for
those of you with experience teaching/presenting to young kids...what do you
focus on in such a short time for such a young audience? I do nature/botanical
artwork as well as pen and ink house portraits and pet portraits, so I have a
whole range of things I could present.

I was thinking of bring examples of my artwork and then some of my "tools" like
my pencils, colored pencils, technical pens, markers to show them how you can
draw differently with different materials. Maybe do a small demo - I have been
doing a lot of botanicals lately, so maybe a simplified flower drawing or
something?

I would welcome any tips or suggestions on what to do to make it an interesting,
but not overwhelming presentation. Feel free to reply off-list if you like.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
Carol
