Dear Cather People,



I wanted to add my heartfelt congratulations to Andy Jewell and Janis 
Stout for the Letters book. My copy arrived (from Amazon) yesterday, and 
I spent a couple of stolen hours perusing the book. What a wonderful job 
the two of you have done! I am looking forward to reading the book from 
beginning to end--to finally have her letters presented in chronological 
order this way creates a new thing, something very valuable in Cather 
studies.



Ten years ago or so I spent a good bit of time with many of these 
collections for some Cather projects, so I have a pretty good idea of the 
work it must have taken to so meticulously transcribe these letters. The 
notes are helpful and excellent; the photos are well-chosen. I'm so thrilled 
that her letters are now available to everyone in this beautiful volume.
