Not to step on Hubert's toes, but it's what the group originally wanted
for a name: "Amlesmore," named for a founder. At the time of the
creation of the group, there wasn't proper documentation to get the name
they wanted, so the group was registered as "Amleth Moor". Over time
more research was available, and they were able to get a Middle English
equivalent to what they originally wanted "Amlethsmor". Congratulations
to the Shire of Amlethsmor!

Can anyone tell me what the new name stands for and/or why it was
selected?

Thanks. I'm always looking for the backgrounds and reasons for verious
SCA place names, for the SCA-placenames-msg series of files in the
Florilegium.
