Stephen,

We have a little Proxima 1300 Watt projector that I like a lot. It is really small but perfectly OK 
for small group presentations. I expect they have a better one by now for less than $1000.

I would look at Optoma as brand. They have a great comparison tool!

It seems the you can get 1280 x 800 2200lumens in an 2.5 x 8 6 inch box for under $900 these days.

You can get under $500 for a 800 x 600px model
