Dear all,

Does anyone know if there has ever been a comparitive research regarding the
effectiveness of various FIT/window pane trap materials, like transparent PVC
sheets and various kinds of black mesh?

I just found Ontherus sulcatus outnumbering Eurysternus caribaeus about 50
to 1 in HE baited pitfall traps, while E. caribaeus were slightly more abundant
than O. sulcatus in FITs along the same trail. I now wonder if Ontherus (and
possibly other species) somehow have the ability to notice the presence of
the used screen material.

Thanks in advance,

Auke Hielkema
