I've heard that in some kingdoms, everybody just goes home after an event. Court ends, people pack up, eat out with a couple of friends, and then just... go home. How lonely that seems! One of Calontir's ancient and honorable traditions dear to my heart is the postrevel. After an event we may head off to eat with friends, but then many of us gather back together in one place to refocus as one people.
When you come to a postrevel you might join a discussion about period clothing or modern football teams. You might catch up with friends or casual aquantances. Someone you barely know might offer you a bottle of Angry Orchard, or a slug from his latest attempt at making the perfect mead.
Folks will be in garb, street clothes, some even in club clothes, and it's just... us. We'll laugh, and chatter, and sing the songs that are part of our culture. So long as folk kindle fire, child calls to mother, and as long as the falcon flies on a long spring day with a fair wind behind it on wings outspread: we are one people. We are Calontir.

There will be a postrevel following Winter War Maneuvers this Saturday in Mag Mor. Perhaps we'll see you there.
