Hi Laura,
I have started them out on low-value/risk projects like picking through and preparing material from a local malaise trap sample. You will find out who has the interest, focus and fine motor skills to work in the collection and who does not.

Subject: Undergraduate students in the collection
Dear ECN community,
For those of you that work at an institution with an undergraduate student body and are willing to share, what are your methods of recruiting undergrads to get involved? Once someone shows interest, how do you vet them to determine whether they will treat the collections with appropriate care and attention to detail?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
Best,
Laura Porturas
