Good afternoon,

I am so pleased to share a call for papers for a conference happening in
Donegal in January. The theme of the conference is Transatlantic
Connections. Papers are welcome in the areas of history, film studies, surf
culture, food culture, and literature. The literary panel, which I will be
moderating, is open to both creative and critical work. I would like to
propose a panel on the theme of Transatlantic Connections in Cather's work.

Some more details on the conference:

Date and Time: Donegal from January 15-18th 2014
Conference Website: http://depts.drew.edu/grad/transatlantic/Conference.html
Speakers include: Christine Kinealy and Diane Negra
Conference will also include a presentation by Liam O’Cuinneagáin, founder
and director of Oideas Gael, on the Irish Language. Musical performances by
Moya Brennan of Clannad, Johnny Gallagher and The Henry Girls, Performances
by Maura Logue’s “Dark Daughter” Company, and The Yeats Society, Sligo.
There will be a final Irish banquet and concert on Friday 17th January,
with awards for the best presentations in each of the five disciplines.

If interested, please send submissions to me at [log in to unmask] or to Niamh
Hamill at [log in to unmask]

Submissions due by November 1st.

All best and please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions,
