I am trying to save a corrupted file. Do any of you know how to do this and
could give me advice?

The file is an illustrator 6.0 file. I am bringing the file into word perfect
to see the codes, etc. I know what objects in the illustrator file are the
offending objects, and I can somewhat identify the layer that the offending
objects are on (in word perfect), but I don't know the code well enough to
precisely know where to start and stop deleting.

This may be too problematic to answer on the list serv. Perhaps some of you
know a source book on uncorrupting files, or something like that. If so, give
me a suggestion.

Thanks all ,
