- Regarding joint projects.......

Cindy,

 Try and negotiate for a RECUPERABLE but NONREFUNDABLE advancement on
royalties...this tends to "push" the project along to a more favorable
conclusion. I once found myself in a situation where my illustrations
were "tied-up" in a project for 2 years and never got off the ground,
due to the incompetence of others. At the end of the 2 years, I
licensed the art, with the above mentioned clause....3 months later
the product was produced, in the market and providing me with
royalties.
