John,
The Experience we have had is: no success with EPS to the PC Powerpoint.
We converted to Photoshop BMPs or TIFs and they did work that way.  This of
course means no clipping paths and floating objects without backgrounds.

If your client has Visio or CorelDraw he can open the Illustrator file
(older Format probably) and Copy/Paste into PC PowerPoint.  That means PC
PowerPoint takes Windows Meta File Format, I think.  Illustrator 7 Has a
WMF export, But I understand it stinks.  But give it a try.
