I'm sure you mean OCR as Karen said.

Also theoretically, 36 bit is better than 30bit (more colors are scanned)
but just as important is the Density range.  4.0 is the maximum.  The
expensive flatbed scanners claim 3.0-3.3 range. This is good (not great)
for scanning transparencies.  Cheaper Scanners may have 2.4-2.8 density.  I
wouldn't get anything below 2.8, which is just sefficient to scan
photoprints OK.
