>Can anybody please suggest me a method how to compress this file to a
size of 1.3 MB or less, or name me an URL where I can download a
compression program from the Internet<

Hi Elizabeth,

No URL, but try setting your web seach parameters to WINZIP. It is a
shareware that allows one to compress any file reasonably and can be found
everywhere. Your client needs to have have a copy of WINZIP to uncompress
the file, but most PC folks out there already do.

Hint:: Before you compress it: if you have Photoshop installed, open the
Bitmap(?) file in Photoshop and then "save as" (menu: file/save as) a TIFF
file. Choose to compress the image when presented with the resulting
dialog
box. This should bring the file size down considerably (depending on the
content). If it is still too big, go the WINZIP route to really squeeze it
down.
BTW if the resultant TIFF file is almost (but not quite) small enuf- under
3 megs- you might try and e-mail the result and forego WINZIP.

Good luck.

Frank
