Hi Kat, Kath, Bill & Jaynie
It's so nice to hear about other fish illustrators!!! I've done carbon
dust technical drawings of fish and have come to appreciate fish in a whole
new way. I now hover over the displays at fish markets - especially loving
the gorgeous colours, as I do my fish work in grey halftones...
I also draw the pectoral fins splayed out against the body to show the
lengths and patterns of the fin rays.
And Kat, I too live in Canada, on the far western edge - in Victoria. I am
hoping to make it down to Richland this summer.
What I love about this group is the combination of art and science with a
large dose of curiousity about everything! I belong to another local group
of illustrators but find that many can't relate to my work and some don't
even view it as being 'creative'....
