Dear All,

My name is Laurel Kaminsky, and I am in charge of the Lepidoptera digitization at the McGuire Center (Florida Museum of Natural History).

I am in the process of trying to figure out how to keep track of what has been digitized in large compactors. I'm trying to figure out a digital way to keep track of this data. The problem is that not all material is fully curated in a compactor. On a floor there are 50+ compactors, with 20+ columns and each column has 20+ drawers.

I could make a series of Excel spreadsheets, but I was wondering if there was additional software or programs people used and how you organized the data. If people are using excel: ideas or examples on how to parse the data would be most appreciated.

 Thank you all in advance.
