Thanks to everyone for their help and input. Our Hazmat specialist
has come and taken the substance away. They like to have some
indication of what they are dealing with so that they can properly
stabilize the substance and ship it out to the disposal facilities.
I was hoping that Kashuba might be a specialized term, like Canada
balsam. It doesn't seem that way. It might be the name of someone,
but we keep a master list of collectors who have material in our
collection. I checked it before asking the listserve and there was no
match. It might have been someone who worked in our collection long,
long ago, who never collected specimens. Anyhow, it's gone now!
