Hello, my name is Andrew Levy, and I am a biology student at New College of Florida, with a particular interest in entomology. I am currently working on my senior thesis, the topic of which is entomological collections curation and management. I am distributing a written questionnaire to collections curators and managers, and gathering information from the answers I receive. This research includes large and small university collections, museum collections, and similar institutions. The questionnaire begins by asking questions concerning some general demographic information about the collection, for example the taxonomic specialty of the collection. It follows with questions concerning two main areas: general curation procedure and digitization of specimens. I will then use the answers provided to create a long-term plan for the small teaching collection that is housed on the New College campus. I am looking for those who would be willing to complete this questionnaire, and provide their insight for this project.
