The Fall 2003 E-Newsletter, Safety Is An Attitude, is available on the EHS

2. EHS Safety Training Schedule
The Winter 2004 Safety Training schedule is available on the EHS Web Site
at http://ehs.unl.edu/Training/index.cfm

3. Updated program documents, checklists
EHS has updated the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), as well
as the following corresponding checklists:

   EHS-IIPP-01 Work Area Safety Information
   EHS-IIPP-02 Job Safety Assessment
   EHS-IIPP-03 Chemical Safety Assessment
   EHS-IIPP-04 Equipment Safety Assessment
   EHS-IIPP-05 Employee Safety Data Sheet
   EHS-IIPP-06 Inspection Checklist
   EHS-IIPP-07 Hazard Notification and Correction

4. New and Updated SOPs
EHS has posted new or revised Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) to the web
site, including:

   Checklist for Safeguards
   Guidelines for Machine and Equipment Safeguarding
   Types and Points of Hazardous Machine Operations
   On-the-Job Injuries
   Accident Investigation Procedures
   First Aid Kits

5. IATA/DOT Training (Shipment of Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods)

Environmental Health and Safety has scheduled an IATA 6.2/9 Training
session for Wednesday, January 14 from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.  UNL employees who
ship dangerous goods, which includes dry ice, must be trained every two
years.  The training will be held in the EHS Training room at 3630 East
Campus Loop.  To register, contact Environmental Health and Safety at
