Dear EHS Listserv Members,

Del Weed, a member of Environmental Health & Safety's Occupational Health &
Safety group at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be retiring on July
9, 2004. Del has worked at UNL for over 35 years and has done just about
every job there is to do in an EHS office. He was also the Chair of the
Campus Safety Association from 1985 to 1986. We will miss him something
terrible when he is gone.

EHS will be holding a retirement reception at the East Campus Union in
Lincoln, NE on June 25th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. It is open to the public.
I know many of you will not be able to attend the reception due to
distance. As an alternative, I'm inviting anyone who knows Del to send an
e-mail to me (do not respond to the list) congratulating him on his
upcoming retirement. I will be compiling the e-mails to give to Del at the
reception. I would very much appreciate any historical, humorous, or other
anecdotes you would like to relate about Del. It is also fine if you send
your e-mail to Del directly. Any e-mail copied to me will be included in
what is presented to Del at the reception. Here are our e-mails:

One last item. Del is not one to call much attention to himself. He might
think my request on this Listserv is "making too much fuss over his
retirement." I know Del is going to realize someone put the word out, but
at least he wouldn't know the details as he was not copied on this email.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Dan Olsen
