1. Sewer Disposal List Updates

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is updating the sewer disposal list for
the University of Nebraska facilities located in Lancaster County.  The
sewer disposal list specifies certain conditions where dilute chemicals may
be disposed to the sanitary sewer.  Please send us suggestions for
chemicals to be added to the list. Your suggestions can be sent by e-mail,
fax, or campus mail to the addresses below.

Prior to sending us your suggestions, please check our website at
http://ehs.unl.edu/SOP/s-sewerdisp.pdf to see if the chemical is already
listed. Chemicals on the sewer disposal list shall only be disposed to
sanitary sewers, and not to septic systems or storm sewers.

Sending us your suggestions does not automatically qualify your chemical
for sanitary sewer disposal.  The Sewer Disposal List will be updated as we
get approvals from Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department.


2. Employee Training Needs Assessment
EHS has posted an Employee Training Needs Assessment (see attachment) at <
http://ehs.unl.edu/Pamphlets/EmployeeTrainingNeedsAssessment.pdf> on the
web page.  This assessment will help supervisors to determine what type of
training is needed per employee in correlation to specific tasks/job
duties.

3. VWR Vendor Show
VWR International is sponsoring a vendor show on Wednesday, April 14 from
1:00 - 3:30 p.m. in the Great Plains Room of the East Campus Union.  VWR is
providing prize drawings and refreshments.
