Geoff,
You have an incredible treat coming your way. So much wildlife around
and about Sydney. In case you aren't already familiar, be sure to take
time for a camping trip to Booderee National Park (link follows.) If
you're up for an adrenalin rush, choose the walk-in campgroup towards
Cave beach where the tent spots border a jungle area dotted with snakes
like the Brown Snake. The main trail to cave beach is free of these and
the beach is not to be missed, wonderful tidepools and boogie boarding.
Also the main campgrounds of Booderee are very safe.
