And it never hurts to have someone on hand who is experienced in  
these things. ; )

Case in point - when I was invited to do a PPT on native orchid  
conservation at a distant conference recently, I had put everything  
on my laptop, plus a cd, plus a flash drive. Saved as Power Point  
Show, and a few other formats. When we tried to hook everything up,  
*nothing* was recognized, much less worked - something about Mac/PC  
compatibility on their dedicated system, even with saving as PPS.  
Fortunately there was someone on hand who was able to fix it and the  
presentation went on as planned. My 40-minute presentation was after  
the lunch hour, so I was VERY glad I decided to check it out on their  
equipment just in case of this possibility.
