I have a request for some suggestions or solutions to a mailing problem the
guild is having to deal with concerning the Guild Handbook.
The publisher that was producing the Handbook has been bought out and the
new publisher is not giving us the same discount on the book as well as not
paying for the shipping charges any more. The former publisher gave us a
flat rate to anywhere in the world we shipped a book. As a result of this
new policy the price of the book will probably have to be raised but aside
from that the real problem is the shipping overseas. In one case it cost
almost half the price of the book to ship it to Australia. If we get too
many shipping costs such as that one the GNSI will be losing money which we
really can't afford to do too often.
So the question is does anybody have a solution or suggestion on how to
handle the shipping overseas? Do we charge those people extra for shipping
to help cover those costs? We 're just not sure of a fair way to do this.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Rebecca
