Thanks everyone for help!
I apology for misspelling my web site's name - - that probably points up to the high level mark at which my stressmometer stays on for the last two months. It's like sending your portfolio to a potential employer, but in fact you only sent them a blank CD...then you were wondering why they never called you for an interview.
I've identified 6 points of concern for me from your comments. Thanks again, it's exactly the kind of feedback that I needed.
It seems that the small writing needs the most attention and I've already solved the problem I came up with a solution, to place a dark bar underneath these titles which will then will be overlapping everything else* (not uploaded yet on the live site)
Joan was right on the money with all her comments about the scope of my "artist's statement" - - It is a joke! But I will also address it (unfortunately employers don't have that much sense of humor these days) Britt actually gave me the best suggestion (jokingly of course) , to place a small button on that area which will let people view a printable version of the text in a separate pop-up window.
The most difficult correction to make after I read your comments will be on the overall size. Yes I agree it's too small and not proportional to the size of a computer monitors. The original reason behind my squarish kind of layout area was the fact that I didn't want my single page elements to float on empty screen, I didn't want to enlarge them exaggeratedly either just to fill up a larger screen, nor to bunch them up with other unrelated graphics (e.g. the technical drawing of the street fountain) . For those of you familiar with Flash, you know that changing the stage size is actually rebuilding the entire project from the scratch - - - about another two months of my (creative) life, after I finish delivering pizza on weekends and driving a cab for living....
I will address the screen area size in a brand new version (a more serious one!!!) , and I will keep this one as the one which people can.......laugh at.
Joan also is right when she said that the fine art piece is too "beginner's exercise" like. Thanks again Joan (I-l-y) I also have some real oil paintings to show.
Thanks again everyone,
-e
