Bruce - Don’t forget to factor in the cost of fine art papers and very expensive inks! For most people I’d say stick with out-sourced prints. However for me it is the time factor more than anything. Either time driving somewhere back and forth or time in transit with shipping. For me and my personality I tend to choose time over money when it comes right down to it (…and why I am perpetually broke but can never ever complain about my freedom). I am hoping that once I get past the learning curve it will become …”easy”..? I hope that is possible anyway…!

Depends of course on how many prints you expect to produce over the course of, say, 10 years. Although printers don't usually last that long. I'm not trying to be cynical. Again, it depends on how many prints you expect to sell, and how much control you think you need over the prints. Most pro printers will adjust the color, etc., to your demands.
