GNSI Greater Washington DC, Monthly Meetings
Mar-April 1999

Join us for a very interesting line-up of topics. Expand your Horizons!

March 16: Working for a Nature Center
Join us for a presentation by Keith Harrison. Keith will talk about the
inner workings the Irvine Nature Center near Baltimore, Maryland. He will
discuss the typical art needs of a typical nature center. So come to learn
more about the type of institution that can be found nation-wide and is the
first experience many people have with nature, science, and art.

SPECIAL MEETING TIME AND PLACE
April 20: TOUR and SKETCHING at the NATIONAL ZOO.
Join us for an afternoon behind-the-scenes tour of the National Zoo's
Invertebrate exhibit. Bring your paper and pencils for some field
schetching after the tour. The Invertebrate House will be closed this day-
except for this private tour for us! Meet at the enterance to the
Invertebrate House at 12:45 PM sharp for the one-hour tour. The Zoo may be
found on Connecticut Ave, NW (Woodley Park-National Zoo stop on Metro Red
Line, parking on streets and in Zoo fee lots). Call or e-mail Kate Spencer
to let her know you plan to attend, if possible (301-513-5747).
See You There!

Meetings are free and open to all, and are normally at 5:30 p.m. on the
third Tuesday of the month, as always, snacks will be served.
Meetings are held in the Waldo Schmitt Room of the Museum of Natural
History, Smithsonian Institution, at Tenth Street and Constitution Avenue,
NW. Enter at the Constitution Avenue entrance and wait
at the guard desk for a GNSI escort to take you upstairs. Escorts will
check in at 5:30, 5:45, 6:00, and 6:15.
