Nice article. I know I'm being a stickler, but Prussian Blue is not the 
first synthetic blue. It is the first synthetic made using more modern 
techniques.

The Egyptians created two artificial blues: Alexandrian Blue (a double 
silicate of copper and calcium) and the ancestor for Delft blue which is 
based on cobalt.
