Dear List serve members,
A long time Guild member whom many of you know, Lois Sloane, has asked me
to inquire if anyone is, or knows of any commercial illustrator of age 70
or over.
I am sorry to report Lois had a bad accident this past year. She was
entering a grocery store- slipped and fell, apparently because of an unsafe
conidition in the store (I don't know exactly what). Her drawing arm was
shattered at the elbow.... Thanks to some great work by her surgone (and
the shortening of her arm slightly) she has regained much of the use of her
arm and hand. But she can not draw with the freedom and speed many of us
always marvaled at.
Her attorny would like to be able to point to examples of other commercial
illustrator/artists (not just science illustrators) of age 70 or greater
who still work in the field. She says it is not nessicary to mention
income levels, just that they are still actively working.
If you are, or know of someone like this, please help Lois out and give her
a call at:

(505) 899-2533 FAX
or E-mail

I hope you will put your thinking caps on about this, remembering all the
advice and help Lois has given the Guild over the years.
