Dear All,

The GNSI Educational Series 2009, digital workshop,
ended yesterday and those in attendance have left for home. I wish them a
safe and uneventful travel back to their own beds and many happy digital
dreams. I feel the four day digital workshop a success, largely due to
those in attendance. We had an excellent group of 26 who packed the room
asking questions and learning with enthusiasm. Such positive energy fuels
instruction and motivates all!

It was an honor for me to be involved with the planning and I feel I can
speak in behalf of the Washington D.C. Chapter and tell you they feel it an
honor to have hosted the event. Without the dedicated help of our members
in the D.C. Chapter and their willingness to share their skills in the
digital medium, helping as teaching assistants in the classroom, preparing
food and set-up, planning for special museum tours, arranging for souvenir
welcome bags with the logo printed on the front and so much more requiring a
few days off at the day job, the workshop could not have been the successful
experience it really was for everyone involved. Please join me in thanking
those dedicated and loyal GNSI members here in Washington D.C. who pulled
together as a team to make the workshop a possibility. We hope to post very
soon pictures from the workshop on the website below.

We will soon begin contemplating a workshop for next year and I am hoping
for suggestions from our members. Please write me with your ideas!

Changing the subject, I appreciate the best wishes and the high votes of
confidence given to me concerning the new position with the Bureau of
Engraving and Printing from those who have written to me on the list serve.
Changing positions is a leap of faith for me and your thoughts and well
wishes DO mean a great deal. In approximately 2 weeks my office will be
located three blocks from where I am currently located at the museum in D.C.
and I can be reached at the [log in to unmask] address, my government
e-mail will be ineffective after the the 10th of this month. Please channel
all e-mail to me at this time through the EdDirector account.

Best Wishes,

Marie
