Dear, dear Mieke! What happy news! : )

Of course, I can't speak for everyone on this list, but please know  
that you have my full support in this. The time will go quickly and  
you will do so much to advance scientific illustration in the  
academic community through your research. Do you have the Guild  
Handbook? That's a good place to start...there is a lot of history in  
there, just researching the names of the contributors. There are a  
few other books I would recommend, too, down the pike.
