probably just a coincidence. I get numerous similar messages from a
dozen or so financial institutions - including my own bank (damnit). my
policy now is to always asume it is BS. and if the stakes are high, I
simply delete and then go visit my online site. be sure not to leave
rouge e-mails open while doing online shopping/banking. the hackers have
gotten good at being able to run scripts from one window that captures
events occuring in another.

It's painfully obvious from the e-mail text that the "Dear University of Wisconsin Credit Union" that is asking for confirmation of my account information is a fraud. Conference attendees might want to watch out for this one.
