Hello all. My name is Kelly. I'm new to this list and thought I'd make
my first appearance with a response to an existing discussion.
On the subject of JPEG compression, the comments I've seen so far have
been accurate. The info lost through JPEG compression is irretrievable.
BUT there is a way around that. With your ORIGINAL (TIFF, EPS, whatever)
Photoshop file open, go up to File and select Save a Copy and save it as
a JPEG with whatever compression amount you want. This way, your
original file is left intact.
Open the copy and see how it looks. If the quality is below what you
want, go back into your original file and save a copy again at a higher
quality.
Hope that helps.
Kelly
