Announcing my annual workshop across thru Antigua, Guatemala and the
highlands. My addition into the spring 2011 roster was a last minute
opportunity, but just as the time frame fit perfectly into my teaching
schedule, so might into your travel schedule.

Botanical arts/natural science illustration combines science and art by
recording the natural world accurately and artistically. Join artists, educators,
nature enthusiasts sketching and painting in tropical landscapes, colorful
markets, a coffee finca (farm), private courtyard gardens and ancient
structures in the ‘land of eternal spring.’

Days begin with intro of materials/demo of technique. Pastel (including the
new pan Pastel), pencil, pen, acrylic (including the new ‘open’ acrylic), colored
pencil, gouache, watercolor, watercolor crayon, watercolor pencil.

Guatemala provides the perfect conditions for such varied artistic immersion.
8,000 species of plants in 19 different ecosystems ranging from mangrove
forests to cloud forests. The national flower, 'monja blanca' (white nun
orchid) among 600 species of orchids.

We'll also head into the highlands where volcanoes rise out of early morning
mist, to beautiful Lake Atitlan for 3 days.

Art Workshops in Guatemala 10-day educational
travel programs off the beaten track and at a very reasonable price includes
tuition, lodging in lovely colonial style hotels, hearty breakfasts, ground
transportation, admissions and field trips. $1845 USD
