Hi, Karen -
You will probably have to direct-connect the Epson. i was able to
finally get my Stylus Color 800 running this weekend by direct
connecting it (and disconnecting several extensions).
(Thank's to everyone for the advice! I put it all to work, and got
things running properly).
I also have to restart the computer when I switch extension sets to
Epson from my standard configuration, another major pain. I tend to
save up color printing, and try to do it all at once, so I'm not
plugging & unplugging, and restarting, several times a work session.
I don't mind having to switch extension sets, but plugging & unplugging
cords is annoying, and probably hard on the cords.
PowerRip (the postscript enabler program for the Epson) also requires a
separate extension setup and plug-switching, and restarting.
Maybe we need to grouse at Epson!
Good luck,
Gail
