Hay all -

1) Finally got a copy of Willow(et al)'s book, An Introduction to
CLOUD FOREST TREES: Monteverde, Costa Rica - wanted Willow to know how
much I am enjoying it - the entire book, itself, is wonderful. It's
got lots of "meat" in terms of general ecological information,
thorough specimen descriptions, etc. But Willow's illustrations really
make the book, and are so beautifully done. Can't wait to get down
that way some day - but in the meantime, I'll have to settle for being
an armchair tropical botanist and dream...

2) Got the opportunity yesterday to see Lynette's space art exhibit in
the Portland area, and to hear her speak. If you haven't had a chance
to see her work - especially in its original form - it is truly
masterful. Her oral and slide presentation was really entertaining -
lots of "color" (both spoken and visual), as well as great information
for both art and astronomy students. Personally, it was a real shot in
the arm for someone who'd temporarily lost her motivation.

Congratulations, Willow and Lynette, on such outstanding
contributions!

Cindy
