The C drive is typically referred to as the startup drive. Are you
getting error messages saying your scratch disc is full? 47 gigs is
plenty of hard drive space for your scratch discs - though a separate
partition wouldn't hurt. the 800+mb temp file may be in use - though if
it is there on the next reboot, you can try to delete it. it won't make
much of a difference. you might also check the adobe site for patches
for that old version. early programs were not able to recognize the
massive amount of space found in today's system. perhaps Illustrator
cannot see the 47 gigs at all.
