Just got back from Oregon a couple days ago and am going
through my looooooooooong list of new e-mail. Found the
reference to rabbit skin glue. The new issue of AMERICAN
ARTIST states that rabbit skin glue is not the best thing to
use for archival purposes because it is especially prone to
expansion and can lead to cracking of the paint and
materials applied on top of it. Acrylic gesso is considered
          preferable.
