Thanks so much to you all! Lots of fuel for thought...still haven't settled
on a solution, although I am starting to lean toward the projector as it
would be terrific to turn it on and off, not to mention the precision of
being able to use a digitally-built grid instead of measuring it all out by
hand like I have in the past. Time to start trolling ebay... :)
