Hi Nancy,

No doubt someone a little more currently "in the know" will send a message
any minute now in answer to your question. My understanding is that the GNSI
Sourcebook isn't scheduled to come out at any definite time in the future.
Originally GNSI did the sourcebook itself for members (through a subsidiary
created for the purpose, named "Science Insights". Then some years back (3,
4? I've forgotten), GNSI joined forces with AMI to do a large, joint
directory, thinking the artists would get better exposure. (Also, the Guild
members doing the Creative Source were volunteers and no doubt ready to move
on to other projects.) When there were enough Guild members in the joint
book who were also willing to pay an additional modest fee, a smaller
directory was put out by Serbin with just the GNSI member advertisers - it
was called, and looked like, the former "Creative Source" and went out to a
separate mailing list.

The joint directory was "official" for a couple of years. Results were
disappointing both to the Guild and to the member advertisers. GNSI did not
get the exposure that it expected - or was promised. At that point, the
Guild wasn't sure what to do: try to do the directory again without the AMI,
continue with the joint book, go to web pages instead, etc.  To my
knowledge, no decision has been made about what direction to go with this.
In the meantime, Serbin has continued to put out the directory and include a
natural science illustration section. GNSI members were told that they could
do it if they wanted to - since it did provide a way of advertising - but it
was no longer the official Creative Source. I assume this arrangement stands
- that GNSI members can do it if they want but that it isn't actually "THE"
Creative Source.

BTW: I got my flier from Serbin just the other day. Any moment now the phone
will ring and the sales rep will try to get me on board too. . .
