SPECIAL MEETING TIME AND PLACE
November 17: 1:00-4:30p.m., National Zoo on Connecticut Ave, NW (Woodley
Park-National Zoo stop on Metro Red Line, parking on streets and in Zoo fee
lots).
Join us for an afternoon behind-the-scenes tour of the National Zoo's
Amazonia exhibit with the Zoo's Vince Rico. Then Kate Spencer will give a
short talk on field sketching, so bring your paper and pencils for some
practice. Amazonia is open until 4:30 but the Zoo stays open later, so we
can keep sketching or wrap up with a get together in a local cafe.  Meet at
the enterance to the Amizonia exhibit at 1:00 PM sharp for the one-hour
tour.  Call Kate Spencer to let her know you plan to attend, if possible

December 15: Annual Holiday Party, Potluck, and Portfolio Sharing.
Join usfor your first time or your fifteenth, and enjoy a sociable evening
showing off your latest and greatest and picking up tips and tricks. And
don't be shy if you're just starting out. We love to make new friends and
see what you're doing.
Britt Griswold will also demonstrate the new Science Insights web portfolio!



Meetings are free and open to all, and are normally at 5:30 p.m. on the
third Tuesday of the month. They are held in the Waldo Schmitt Room of the
Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, at Tenth Street and
Constitution Avenue, NW. Enter at the Constitution Avenue entrance and wait
at the guard desk for a GNSI escort to take you upstairs. Escorts will
check in at 5:30, 5:45,6:00 and 6:15.
