Subject: Jay Hosler - The Sandwalk Adventure
Hello Everyone
Just wanted to share in the celebration of Charles Darwin by
mentioning a fantastic book about him that, if you are not already
acquainted with, you might want to check out!
The author is Jay Hosler, a biologist and cartoonist, and the book is
called 'The Sandwalk Adventure', a graphic-novel-style work that
explains the history of Darwin's discovery and the concepts of natural
selection in a most engaging, fun, and original way, via the dialog
between Darwin as he takes his daily walks, and a curious follicle
mite who lives in his eyebrow.
It's a wonderful combination of art and science that is a great
example to show students, of a unique and important communication
piece, and of course also very useful to help explain natural
selection to those who still have trouble understanding it.
Cheers to all
