>Frank, what problems with the Stylus PhotoEX on a G-3 do you have. I
have a G-3 card in my 7600 and have had no problems yet.<
Hi Mike,
The problems are twofold. First was the issues that presented itself with
the forced migration to USB. The only USB RIP available was from Birney
and
it's a complicated process for my boss to deal with. And its quirky. (ie.
when printing out a seies of postscript diagrams, the first one is always
printed in bold and the rest come out as requested.) It doesn't help that
the printer- whether using its native print driver or the Birney RIP- will
randomly freeze, jam, or crash and spit out giberish.
The second issue is with colors. I can calibrate the system to match the
colors of the Epson OR I can calibrate the system to match the colors of
the real world. They seem to be very different. Epson seems to have a very
green slant on things. I am not one to shy away from tackling problems
under the hood. But before this we were always using HP printers. I'm use
to printers just working when I ask them to.
