I'm still going through the many helpful replies to my questions (I'm having
to pick through reams of random html stuff). Thanks to everyone who
responded! Today I talked with the head of the department, and we are going
to consult with the Dean next to find out what to do. BTW, I never signed
any contract at UTC (this job began as a minimum wage student assistant
position); however, I always assumed that I was doing work for hire, since I
get a pay stub and it's not counted as free lance when I do my taxes. I'm
almost done getting permissions from the journals, and if I can work out
something fair with the university, I'll be satisfied that I've done
everything I can. Several people have suggested that I could just run the
art and no one would notice, but what's the point of a website I can't
properly publicize? At the very least, I want to be able to put up a link
here, and someone >would< notice.

I told Dr. Gaudin my little joke about the 12 researchers in the whole world
who would buy sloth skull coffee cups and he enthusiastically said he would
buy one, and then he showed me a rather amusing t-shirt decorated with
skulls from Skulls Unlimited. Made me wish I >could< do one! But as I
said, not the broad road to fame and fortune.

best, Julia Morgan Scott
