"River Rats" seems to be a pretty common appellation. The gang kids in
Edgewater, NJ are River Rats and the NJ Devils' minor league hockey team
is the Albany River Rats. Last week, I wore my (Albany) River Rats
t-shirt to a shop in Edgewater. I got several comments, and even more
odd looks.
